What A Revoltin' Development

Last night, I spent more than a little while waxing eloquent about the things I am anticipating about my return visit to Alaska. I thought that would likely be the last post before a couple photos from the airport on the way north.

Then my classmate Craig B, also mentioned in the last post, sent me this article (which please read). Be sure, as Craig told me, to click on the photo and note the address - that's right 305 Eureka Ave and the reddish house on the left is 309 Eureka!
Wow, it turns out my idyllic childhood was spent in a toxic dump. "The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation... found no evidence that any contamination on her property seeped onto neighbors’ land..."
Right, these things (US Army waste sites) are usually pretty small, front-yard sized affairs. Now about this cough I can't seem to get rid of...

  1. This would explain a lot of things to a lot of people if looked at in the right (or wrong) light :-) I'm reminded of Christ Farley as Tommy Boy being continually asked, "Did you eat paint chips as a kid?"

  2. I think Scarred Warrior meant "Chris Farley". And I'd think Scarred Warrior, of all people, should know better.

  3. Devin took the words out of my mouth; it explains a lot--including possibly your other blog. ;)
